Does TikTok Shop allow AI-generated videos?

Yes. TikTok Shop allows AI-generated videos, as long as they are labelled and they show the product as it really is. Those two conditions are where sellers get into trouble, so here they are in TikTok's own words, from its US rules page for sellers and creators (dated 09/02/2026, read on 4 October 2026).

The short version

TikTok sums up its rule in one line: "AI-generated content is allowed, but you must be transparent and accurate."

It also says you won't be held back just for using it: "Content will not be restricted or penalized solely for using AI, provided it complies with TikTok's Community Guidelines, TikTok Shop policies, and all relevant platform standards and requirements."

When you have to label it

TikTok asks creators to "proactively disclose content that is fully generated or significantly edited using AI." It says disclosure matters most when:

If your video has a generated presenter or a generated voice, label it. Not labelling is itself a violation: TikTok lists "Failing to disclose AI use when AI plays a significant role in content creation" as false disclosure, which "may result in content removal or account restrictions." So is the opposite, labelling a video as AI-generated when it isn't.

How to label it

TikTok gives two ways. Either is enough.

  1. In the video. "Clearly state that the content is AI-generated by using on-screen text, watermarks, stickers, or a note in the video description."
  2. With TikTok's toggle. When you post, turn on "AI-generated content" in the post settings. A label reading "Disclosed by creator as AI-generated" then appears in the bottom-left corner.

Using the toggle doesn't hurt reach. In TikTok's words: "Content will not be demoted or restricted solely because the AI-generated content setting is enabled."

TikTok may also add a label itself if the file carries metadata that marks it as AI-generated, and "Creators cannot remove a label applied by the platform."

What TikTok allows

TikTok lists these as permitted, "provided the content is accurate and not misleading":

What gets content removed

This is the part to read twice. Under TikTok's rules, a generated video must not:

Breaking these can mean restricted reach, removed product links or shopping cart, lost Creator Health Rating points and a warning. For repeated or severe cases TikTok lists limits on posting, "permanently disabling commission withdrawal privileges", "suspension or permanent revocation of product promotion privileges", or a banned account.

Where Klovera fits

Klovera starts from your product photo and keeps the label, colours and shape exactly as they are, which is TikTok's first rule. Captions are included, and the presenter is a Klovera Character or one you create; if you create one from a photo, use only a face you have the right to use. You still turn on TikTok's AI-generated content toggle when you post, the same as with any generated video. If you sell on Amazon too, see Klovera for Amazon sellers.
